What is ABHA?
The Ayushman Bharat Health Account — a fourteen-digit health ID under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission that links your medical records across hospitals that participate.
Is ABHA the same as an Ayushman card?
No, and they are easy to confuse. ABHA is a health record identifier for everyone. The Ayushman card is for the PM-JAY treatment scheme and depends on eligibility. Many people hold both.
Do I have to share my ABHA number?
Only when you want a hospital to link records. Sharing is consent-based and you can refuse without losing treatment.
What is on the "Back" side?
A real ABHA card PDF prints the card itself, then a second panel of instructions and the toll-free helpline number, in the same fixed layout every time. That panel is captured as the second side, at the same fixed 8.5 x 5.5cm size as the front.
