Questions about this tool
When is an age declaration asked for?
When a birth certificate is missing or the date on it disagrees with the school record — commonly for pension applications, scheme eligibility, marriage registration and some employment forms.
Does this replace a birth certificate?
No. It is a statement you make about your own age, not a record issued by the state. Where a birth certificate is genuinely required, apply for a late registration — the late registration file maker builds that application.
Which date should I write?
The one on your school leaving certificate, if you have one — offices treat it as the strongest secondary evidence. If it disagrees with your Aadhaar, mention both to the office before you file.
Does the age update automatically later?
No — it is fixed to whatever you enter for today's date at the time you fill it. Generate a fresh one if you need it again after some time has passed.
Is a notary needed?
Only if the specific office asks for a sworn affidavit rather than a plain declaration — most accept the plain version signed in front of the officer.
